With the holiday season behind us, Wien & Malkin's investment services department is working full speed on behalf of our investors to make sure that all reporting and tax-filing related tasks are completed in the most timely and efficient way. It's our busiest time of the year, with more than 13,000 K-1 schedules to be completed. To accomplish that task, we are reviewing year-end financial statements of Wien & Malkin-supervised partnerships, coordinating tax and accounting issues with outside accounting firms, making certain that taxable income has been properly determined and allocated, answering investors' questions, and filing all returns with the taxing authorities. Here's how you can help us provide the best possible service: If someone other than you requires copies of your K-1, please notify us as soon as possible, by fax, e-mail or regular mail (see page 4 for numbers and addresses). Or you may have your accountant or attorney contact us. In addition, if you have a question about your Wien & Malkin investments, please have the pertinent information available when contacting us or include it with any written communication. This includes your social security number or tax identification number and the names of your partnerships. Although tax season is a time of peak intensity for the investment services department, we're here for you all year long, reviewing distributions and interim financial reports, monitoring property performance, looking for refinancing opportunities at lower interest rates, and working on new service enhancements.
