Investor interest exceeded supply in the offering of partnership units for 500 Mamaroneck Avenue L.P. In only three weeks, the response from investors surpassed the full offering amount by more than 15%. "In all future offerings it will be first come, first served, so investors should be certain they understand the proper steps they must follow to participate in the investment," says Ned Cohen, vice president of Wien & Malkin Securities Corp. First: Become an "accredited" investor with Wien & Malkin by filling out and submitting an Accredited Investor Suitability Form. The form is available on the internet at wienmalkin.com or can be obtained by calling or faxing us. (See page 4 for phone and fax numbers and for an explanation of who qualifies as an accredited investor.)
Third: Investors must read the private placement memorandum (and have their professional advisors explain to them anything they don"t understand), completely execute the subscription documents, and submit their check for the full amount of their subscription. "The private placement memorandum and the subscription documents are crucial," Mr. Cohen says. "Investors must review the private placement memorandum, return a fully executed subscription document and submit their check to be admitted to the investment group." Fourth: Investors will be given notification that their subscription documents and checks were received. A countersigned subscription document will be returned to the investor as confirmation of acceptance into the investment entity. For a quick guide to the proper procedure, use the handy check list at right.
